I registered for the ride in January and been training since but it seems like 5 minutes ago, it all REALLY sunk in ... how did this happen? A couple of questions:
Are most of you dropping off your bike on the eve of event? I would rather not unless it is crazy doing in on Saturday. Any insights?
If I completed the online check in, is there much to do on the morning of the event?
Anybody heard any details around registration for transportation back to Mtl. While I can be picked up, haven't made final decision. Unless I missed it, I thought we'd get an e-mail early June.
hi lmp I'm dropping off my bike because I have to be there for a "rehearsal" of the opening ceremonies that they asked me to be a part of - so I am going to leave it so I can carry our "luggage" on Saturday while Hubby brings his bike... I think it's just a matter of how much you're bringing in your overnight bag? If it's big and heavy then you might have trouble maneuvering the bag and the bike... For the shuttle back - you should be able to sign up for it - log in to your account - and there are 3 things you can do - register - pick a tentmate and shuttles - it's right near the middle of the page when you log in...
I have decided to take everything with me in the morning. My wife is dropping me off at the Big O and everything I am bringing will fit in a knapsack. I do not know if it is the wisest thing for me to do but I live in Brossard so I don't want to make the trip three times in three days. I figure twice in two days is enough (once to get there and once to get back home.)
If you are in doubt what to do, why not call one of the coaches?
If you do the online registration, everything will be sent to you at home - bike/bag/tent number - shirt etc.
If you drop your bike of the day before you will have to lock it but there are security people there to "look" after your bike.
I registered online, so I will bring everything on the 11th, not comfortable leaving my bike over night. You can get there at 5:30 and you will have lots of time. But online will save you time.
Me too, I'm bringing everything Saturday morning at "UGH" 5:30 ish. You're right about it all sinking in. July 11th is almost here. How many more sleeps Team m.a.d.

Riding mine in on Friday and trusting the organization/the security and the gods who got me into this in the first place to keep an eye on PURPLE LUCY! Nice way to ease into the weekend too and quite impressive to see everyone on Friday-get those butterflies going..all part of the journey!
Thanks to all for your thoughts. I'm relieved to hear that I'm not the only one who has a tough time parting with my baby (bike). I'll drop things off bright and early at 5:30 on Saturday.
