Ready, set, go! Gear up s right around the corner Wednesday, June 25th, 2009. Rev up your fundraising efforts and make a big impact in the lives of those affected by cancer. It will be an amazing brainstorming session! Dont forget to bring a pen and paper to jot down ideas from fellow Riders and tips from your Coaches.
you're welcome Dez! Sorry about the low turnout. I got to meet Jojo though - and gave her a ride to the metro so she wouldn't get soaked... I think she'll be joining our last few training rides too - so it will be less lonely for her... I think it was poorly advertised that's all... Who is thinking of joining now? you wanted to find the people who are already signed up but to find out about the session you had to go to "Find an Orientation??". Instead of still having the June 11th info up on the first page for a long time after June 11th - it should have been about your session... I have to say I almost missed you. I couldn't imagine them putting you guys in the very last party room... I had turned back but saw the last door (with the cleaning cart just outside it and thought - better look there just in case it's not a closet...) Good thing I did - otherwise never would have found you!!! Anyhow - good to see you again - and thanks for all your help here! It is much appreciated!
3 biggies left - tomorrow, Saturday, next Wednesday and Saturday the 4th. Details are here for Saturday/Wednesday - make sure to RSVP to Serge though so he knows to expect you...
Location: Pointe Fortune & Kanesatake Meet time: 7:45am Start time: 8:00am Distance: 120-130 kms Please meet in the Civic Centre parking lot in Dollard des Ormeaux (Sports Complex and City Hall) at 12001 de Salaberry. With the Ride being 2 weeks away, this isn't the time to take it easy. Come join me on a ride that combines flat terrain and small valleys (similar to the Ile Bizard ride but longer). From our starting point, we'll head over to Dorion where we will begin our ride along the Outaouais. On the ride, the river, on the left, fields populated by horses. In Rigaud, we turn off toward Pointe-Fortune to head along Carillon corssing. Once on the other side, we'll start our return taking the 344 East the whole way. Our return will be a little more difficult with the valleys being a bit more intense, but it won't kill us! The 344 will take us to Oka where we will take a second crossing to Como. From there on, we'll mostly be going downhill until home. Beautiful landscapes and nature's fresh air all the way! I'm aiming for a ride of three groups - 20-24kms, 25-28kms, 29-100kms. We wll take a 5-minute break every hour or hour and a half, but no stop for lunch. We should be back around 1pm. Please bring provisions for the whole ride. Please bring extra tire tubes in case of flats. Depending on the group, the ride can be done between 5-7 hours. Plan to be back between 1pm and 3pm. Double-check the breaks, and the front and back derailer. Clean and lubricate your chain and fill your tires. Come prepared with $4.00 for the crossings. Rain or shine! Please RSVP to Serge Tessier at serge.tessier@bell.ca or by phone at 514-624-3067.
