How hilly is this ride? I'll be flying in from Amsterdam just the day before so I'll be kinda jet lagged - if it's a tough ride, I'll just be toast...let me know?
actually you can do 78, 102 and 147 - you choose how far you want to go and follow that route. I did two Metropolitain Challenges last year - they are well organized and it's a nice way to go long distances with some support (i.e. if you can't make it or have a flat or not feeling well) they provide helpers (for flats) or a truck for pick-ups... I feel better doing longer distances with that kind of support...
I just mapmyrided the smaller part - I'm guessing as to exact routes and I'm off by a few km's but it gives you an idea... http://tinyurl.com/28b28kl if you click on the right where it says show elevation it shows you at the bottom and the side the info...
I also did a guesstimate one of the full metro challenge... http://tinyurl.com/2ep83lv
compared to the 2nd day of the RTCC it looks similar - except for one larger climb... I believe at the St. Calixte part...
thanks, ddk - I'm thinking it might be crazy to think of doing it if I'm getting back from Europe only the nite before, though. we'll have to see - do you think I could sign up at the last minute?
I did the Metro Challenge last year and it was a very good chance to see what a long ride is with 1000+ people. It is well run, lots of support, lunch is provided.
Taking a poll who is interested (Sharron your not included, name is already on the list, and DDK your lucky your busy, but we could use a Lemon cake for the ride)
email me at: ride@dspharwod.com 100Kms or 150Kms
They also have a 75Kms ride.

You're killing Dez..ok-I would LOOOOVE to do this - come one Sharon- we can do this - I'll bring the lemon loaf! Not sure how I'll get there though - but I'll try and find a lift. So not a completely sure thing-but almost.
Mermaid I can pick you up, especially if you're bringing a lemon loaf. DEZ! You're slave driver, K I'll go-I'll go. BUT I'm still gonna wait til a bit closer to the event cuz If it's cold and rainy forget it.
Here's a complete turn around, from my Witching with a B, if the weather is good lets all go for the 150km. What do ya say. It's only 10km more then to Trois Rivere.
DEAL! Weather permitting, because you can pay the day of the ride. We can start for the 100 or 125 and depending on how we feel, 150kms Average speed 35k/hr (ok ok, 26 or so)
Cristina will post something on the Training Site. But who ever would like to get a group to ride the 75Kms (not you Sharron) send me a email ride@dspharwood.com
Basically the same ride as the DDO Training ride, just a little longer.
FYI on my end, I will not be going, after todays FULL CONTACT RTCC TRAINING RIDE (you have to read that line like a boxing announcer). I vote Sharon to take the lead with Mer.
Franchement Desmond-after seeing the state of the two cars-you and Jasmyn had some major angel power on your side yesterday! (may not feel like it today Im sure!) Take good care & hope to see you back on the road soon! Sharon- looks like the weather so far will be cooling down to the lower 20s and sunny for next Sunday-so perfect conditions. (did 78km yesterday (merci Serge!) happy to report the knees held up quite well-so no going back-its 100 or 150 for sure!)
