Does anyone know the Mtl-QC route?

Hi folks, I'm doing the Montreal to Quebec City ride for the first time and looking forward to it! I live in Toronto and originally planned to do Toronto to Niagara Falls but they sold out a few weeks ago. Does any one know the route for this ride? Where do we start and finish? Is it a hilly course?

I'm both nervous cry and excited smile....I'm a half marathon runner but never been on a long bike ride like this. I just bought a bike a few months ago to cross train, so I have my work cut out for me.

Thanks for your help!

Mike

I have done about 1/4 of the route, up until Berthierville. That's about half-way to the overnight stop at Trois-Rivieres. It's really not hilly, but I understand that there are some hills near Donnacona, fairly near to Quebec City. Starting point is supposed to be at the Olympic Stadium, but it's not confirmed yet. I don't know where the finish is, but it's fairly safe to predict that it will be in the west end of the city. In any case, biking is MUCH easier than running. You can find a speed that you can keep up for hours, as long as your butt can hold up.

Dear Mike,

The route is apparently a very nice one and runs along the St. Lawrence River. I believe it is route 138 that we follow. As per friends, there are a few hills along the way but nothing major.
I am also a half marathon runner and decided to take on biking, because when I used to run I often saw a platoon of bikers speeding past me and thought it would be nice to do longer distances. I was considering a full marathon or road biking and chose the latter because of a bothersome achille's tendon.
I have since started training on a stationary bike....and well this is definately harder on the rearend! But my tendons and joints are happier.
I am also nervous and excited.....oh yes and a little poorer as biking is more expensive than running.
Happy training,
Dalia
