I bike daily from Brossard to downtown along the St-Lawrence river. When I cross onto Ille Notre-Dame, the bug count goes up dramatically. You have to bike with your mouth closed or you get lots of extra protein. If you do not have sunglasses on, you will instantly wish you did!
Has anyone cycled the Montreal to Quebec route before and can advise on if there will be a lot of bugs?
good question - I don't know. I'll be riding up near Bertherville on the 27th - I can see what it's like in that area... No idea though if it's worse or better by the water...
