but but but - would you believe that I cracked the head of my humerus 2 weeks ago, where the rotator cuff attaches at the shoulder. I doesn't keep me from riding anymore but it's been a set-back. Should be totally healed by the time the ride comes along.
There are sure a lot of 1's before the big ride * 1 Month and 1 week left * 1 thousand more training kilometers * 1 week of rest to build up endurance * 1 bike tune-up to to get * 1 last fund-raising push to remind the folks who promised to donate
The online registration is done, it is getting close!
As we get closer to July 10, the emotional component of what we have accomplished so far is beginning to set in. We have collectively raised millions of dollars for a cause that has affected us all. I know our efforts are helping people in need, and I hope that we see progress in our lifetime to get rid of this dreadful diasease.
Well, the clock is winding down until the big ride. Only 1 week and 1 day left (or as I used to tell my kids 8 more sleeps).
The ride jersey has arrived, once the weekend training is over, time to attach the bike labels, fine tune the bike, wash the ride gear, pack the bags, charge the batteries, and send out the e-mail update to the folks who have supported me financially and mentally throughout these past months of training.
I have had friends who have ridden in the Ontario as well as the BC RTCC this year, they all have had amazing experiences. I am sure ours will be also.
I've done my last training this morning. Now it's time to eat (heat, hahaha) pasta, pasta and pasta, dring drink drink water, until saturday morning. Only one piece is missing for me, how to in this humidity. Worst case, I will sleep sunday in Quebec
